Some say ---During this tumultuous time, our homes have become our office, classroom, gym, etc. which has brought disruption and too much “yang energy” to our spaces.
I say -- this doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Our spaces are here to serve us and protect us. Just like some wise people say you don't have to go outside of yourself to find peace and healing (was it the Good Witch of the North?), I say, you don't have to travel far from your home or workspace to find everything you need. You just have to create a space that you connect with and that supports you. Balance is key!
For example - adding some yin and quiet areas for refuge even in the most yang of spaces; or enjoying your outdoor yard space in nature to decompress from sitting on a Zoom call too long; or bringing nature inside (like a plant or a beautiful landscape painting). Even the smallest office can have a tiny corner with a table fountain where you roll out a yoga mat and meditate or just concentrate on breathing for 5 minutes. A water element is good for the Career gua anyway!
I feel like the Western World has given Balance a bad rap. It shouldn’t mean, “doing all the things” (parenting, working, staying healthy, having a social life, sleeping) while walking across a tightrope without falling off. To me it means, finding moments of peace and grounding in the midst of chaos. Those are the moments where you connect with yourself and the Universe. The moments where you regenerate and rejuvenate yourself and find the joy to keep going and enjoying the journey. I want to help create places where you can do that. That’s the heart of Vibrant Living.
Of course it’s not all about yin and meditation. We want to make sure places that need the Yang energy like a kitchen or large collaborative office are as functional, yet harmonious, as possible.
